‘I was shaking’: Stoney Creek man scores $164,000 on Lotto Max

“I was getting ready for work when my wife asked me if I checked my tickets,” Magill noted in a news release from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. (OLG).

Initially believing he had won $164, Magill checked his ticket again using the OLG app. He then realized he had won a Lotto Max second prize worth $164,125.80.

“My wife took a look at my phone and pointed out it was actually $164,000,” Magill added in the release. “I was shaking! I looked at my wife with a big smile and gave her a big hug.”

Magill said he’s had a few sleepless nights after discovering his win. He recently visited the OLG prize centre in Toronto to claim his cash.

“It’s starting to sink in, but it’s so surreal,” he added. “This win is a blessing. It means more freedom for my wife and I.”

Magill’s winning ticket was purchased at Hasty Market on King Street in Stoney Creek.
